Translate all phrases in WordPress with WPML String Translation
Improve your multilingual WordPress (WPML) experience with our advanced WPML String Translation module. This module is used to locate elements outside of posts, pages, or taxonomies, such as site taglines, widget titles, and admin screen texts.
Manage strings efficiently
With potentially thousands of strings on a complex site, our filter in the WPML String Translation display plugin streamlines your workflow:
- Filter by translation status, e.g. completed or pending.
- Organize your strings by domain, e.g. "Widgets", for easier access.
- Use the search function to pinpoint specific strings of characters.
Easily translate strings
Open the translation editor by clicking on the translation link. After translation, remember to check the "translation completed" option. Incomplete translations will not be visible on the website. If you use the WPML translation management module, you can send strings for translation. However, please note that it is not possible to select a specific translator. Any translator in a given language pair can handle the strings you choose.
String management
If you've moved away from a specific theme or plugin, you can easily remove the associated strings. Select the strings and press "Delete". Additionally, you can modify the source language for specific strings or entire domains. This is especially useful when dealing with themes or plugins coded in languages other than English.
Advanced features
The WPML string translation module is not limited to just basic translation. Offers advanced features to simplify site administration:
- Track string usage: determine where strings appear on your site. This feature records the PHP source and pages displaying each string, helping you understand the context for accurate translations. Please note that this feature may impact database performance, so use it wisely.
- Automatic string logging: WPML can dynamically log strings for translation, which is especially useful when static code analysis misses some strings.
- Import/Export .PO: Seamlessly import translations from other sources or export current translations via .po files.
- Translate strings in wp_options table: Many themes and plugins store text here, including widgets. WPML allows you to register these strings for translation, making multilingual site setup simple for end users.
